Arian Vazirdaftari is a writer and director based in Germany. So far he has made 5 short films and his debut feature film. His short film NOT YET (2016) won the Grand Prix for best fiction and the Netpac Award At 34th Busan International Short Film Festival and his last short film, LIKE A GOOD KID (2018), was premiered at 71st Cannes Film Festival at Cinéfondation Competition. In 2022 his debut feature film as writer and director, WITHOUT HER (2022), was premiered at 79th Venice International Film Festival Orizzonti Extra Section and later on was officially selected at festivals such as Toronto (TIFF), Palm Springs, Jeonju and won the Best Genre film Award at 56th Hof international film festival. That same year he co-wrote another feature film called WORLD WAR III (2022) which won the best feature film prize of 79th Venice International Film Festival and was the OSCAR representative of Iran in 2023. Arian was also a part of Berlinale Talents and Script Station program back in 2021 and right now he is developing his second feature film.
